Slow Food Experience at Dalabelos

This experience is crafted in accordance with the principles of Slow food, ensuring that it is delicious, socially responsible and ecologically sustainable. Slow food is a global movement which began in Italy during the 80’s – a global movement aiming to create a world where all people can truly enjoy good and healthy food that respects the environment and our planet. Slow food comes in contrast with the fast food mentality which rules our contemporary lifestyle. It is all about good, clean and fair food. We at Dalabelos agritourism complex in Angeliana village Crete, support the philosophy of Slow food even before it began as a founded movement and continue to follow and fully support it after. Almost all vegetables and herbs grow in our farm. Our meat comes from organically fed animals (sheep, lamb, rabbit, chicken).


Our meeting point will be Dalabelos outdoor restaurant area. Guests will be guided to a short walk to our gardens to pick up on their own most of the ingredients that will be used for all courses of the slow food experience – based on what’s in season. As a team, we will prepare the first main dish based on local free range meat. The second main course (suitable for attendants who are vegetarians or vegans) will be based on fresh organic vegetables. In the meantime, participants can take advantage of the opportunity to take in the beauty of our surroundings. Time to gather around the table and start our journey exploring a selection of recipes our land can offer. We finish with all components of the meal, including 2 appetizers, 2 main courses and 1 salad. We will also learn how to pair natural wines from our territory to different foods. We will be guiding you through all food: how they are made, stories of tradition about them and their link to our local food culture and history. Depending on the season and our stockage you will have the opportunity to buy organic vegetables from our gardens, extra virgin olive oil of our production from our olive trees, fresh eggs from our free range chickens, homemade marmalades and sweet treats, Cretan wild herbs, tinctures to treat disease and maintain health and more…. (there is also the possibility to order the products in advance from our order list and pick them up on the day of the experience  – ask us to send our updated list based on what is available in season)!


Every Friday, upon request, a minimum number of 2 participants is required. 
  This experience is subject to weather conditions.

The activity won’t be available from 1st of November – 28th of February.


The duration is defined from 5 to 6 hours  – can be slightly modified

The price for Slow Food Experience at Dalabelos is  600 € (for group of 1 to 4 person)  and 120 € (extra per person)
